What is the Internet of Things (IoT)?

Amman, Jordan (December, 2018) – Wasslz, a provider of Internet of Things technologies for homes, industries, and cities, announces their conclusion of its first participation in Iraq’s biggest security event, SSPEX for the year 2018.
A modern and secure Iraq was the central topic of the SSPEX event as it gathered the most important decision makers from the country’s government institutions and ministries. Wasslz addressed the evolution of smart technologies and Internet of Things and its potential transformational role in the way cities, industries, and homes can function.
Internet of Things
Wasslz’s message was simple; to create a smart world. Monitoring traffic congestion, measuring and controlling air pollution from factories, studying water quality, managing street lighting, detecting smartphone activity, and so much more sensor-based capabilities are provided by Wasslz and smart technologies involved in the development of such solutions and features.
The topic of smart cities was a standout in this event due to its relevancy to Iraqi government ministries and institutions and their shared goal to modernize Iraq’s public life. Implementing the solutions to handle various aspects of city life produces unprecedented information and insights into how a city functions to help it develop ways for improving the everyday life of citizens.
Smart Iraq
A smart Iraq can monitor vehicles and pedestrian affluence to optimize driving and walking routes and detect of rubbish levels in containers to optimize trash collection routes; these are a few examples of how the Internet of Things can completely revolutionize a city, making it an enormous machine characterized by its efficiency and modernity.
Wasslz’s President, Fadi Qutaishat, on their experience at the SSPEX exhibition;

Qutaishat continued,

Qutaishat summed up his words,
“A connected city joined by the automated management, operation, and intelligence gathering; this is what Wasslz had in mind for Iraq and it was what we conveyed to the many leaders of the great country of Iraq.”
SSPEX Event – Iraq
SSPEX Iraq is one of the largest and most important exhibitions in Iraq. The event highlights security and society protection and post-liberation areas management in the construction of modern systems for all the plans of the sponsoring and participation ministries (interior, transportation, communications, industry, and minerals).
This is aimed at contributing to the establishment of infrastructure that preserves the interior security of Iraq using global companies’ expertise by developing strategies to limit counter-attacks on all projects from the sea ports, air, roads, rail, internal and external networks, and communications.
